Grant OpportunitiesTIP   When searching for grants on your own, read the application guidelines carefully so you don't spend your time writing a proposal when you are not eligible to apply.

East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBR) is a tax-exempt organization; though, it is not tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code.  As a public school district, EBR is classified as a government agency.  Government agencies are tax free and not required to have a tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3).

If the funding agency contributes to 501(c)(3) organizations and does not specifically mention schools or school districts in their criteria, you should contact the funding agency to confirm your site’s eligibility for funding.
